Instagram Exec Explains Disastrous Update After Restoring Original Layout

Instagram executive Adam Mosseri is explaining what happened with the update you may have seen in your feed early Thursday morning (December 27).

If you missed it, Instagram briefly changed for some users and gave them a horizontal feed to look at photos, as opposed to previously having a vertical feed.

“Sorry about that, this was supposed to be a very small test but we went broader than we anticipated,” Adam explained in one tweet to a displeased user.

Adam added, “Sorry for the confusion! Always trying new ideas, usually with a much smaller number of people…”

After the update was put live, fans immediately started tweeting extreme displeasure with the new look!
