Roger Federer Defeats Serena Williams in Mixed Doubles Match at Hopman Cup!
Serena Williams and Roger Federer went head-to-head on day four of the 2019 Hopman Cup on Tuesday afternoon (January 1) at the RAC Arena in Perth, Australia.
The tennis pros, both 37, played each other for the first time during their mixed doubles match where Roger teamed up Belinda Benic and Serena played alongside Frances Tiafoe.
In the end, Roger and Belinda won the match, five games to three.
After the match, the tennis legends raved about each other before snapping a selfie.
“What a pleasure. What an honor,” Roger shared via USA Today. “It was nerve-wracking, too. I thought, ‘I’ve got to win this point but it is Serena Williams.’ People talk about her serve so much, and I see why it is such a wonderful serve because you just can’t read it.”
