American Idol's Brian Dunkleman's Current Job Revealed
Brian Dunkelman co-hosted the first season of American Idol alongside Ryan Seacrest in 2002, but then he quit the show to pursue a career in acting and comedy.
The 47-year-old former television personality has kept a relatively low profile ever since his departure from Idol, so you might be wondering what he has been up to these days. (He did make an appearance at the Idol finale in 2016, which you can see in the gallery alongside photos from season one)
Brian is in the middle of a divorce with his wife Kalea and he disclosed his current occupation and salary in the documents. The divorce has been going on for two years as they are in a custody battle over their five-year-old son Jackson.
Brian listed his current occupation as Uber driver, which he says he has been doing since March 2016. He says he works about 45 hours a week and earns $800 a week, according to TMZ.
After the report surfaced, Brian spoke out on Twitter.
I chose to stop doing standup comedy and started driving an Uber so I could be there for my son as much as he needed after our life as we knew it was destroyed.
