Dakota Johnson, Jason Segel, & Casey Affleck Will Star in 'The Friend'

Dakota Johnson, Jason Segel, and Casey Affleck are teaming up for a new movie!

The 29-year-old Suspiria star, the 39-year-old How I Met Your Mother actor, and the 43-year-old The Old Man & the Gun actor will all star in Berlind-bound drama The Friend.

BAFTA nominee Gabriela Cowperthwaite will direct the film, which is based on Matthew Teague’s National Magazine Award-winning article first published in Esquire Magazine.

The Friend tells the extraordinary true story of Nicole (Dakota) and Matthew Teague (Casey) who, after learning that Nicole has just six months to live, receive the unexpected support of the couple’s best friend (Jason) who decides to move into their family home and put his own life on hold. His impact on everyone is much greater – and more profound – than anyone could have imagined.

Production will begin this February in Fairhope, Ala., in the town where the Teague family resided.
