Colin Kaepernick's Lawyer Slams Adam Levine's Reasoning for Taking Super Bowl Gig

Colin Kaepernick‘s lawyer is speaking out to slam Maroon 5‘s Adam Levine.

The 39-year-old singer gave an interview this week in which he explained his reasoning for taking the Super Bowl Halftime Show gig while other stars turned down the opportunity to show support for Kaepernick.

Colin hasn’t played in an NFL game in years following his decision to kneel during the National Anthem to protest police brutality.

“If you’re going to cross this idealogical or intellectual picket line, then own it, and Adam Levine certainly isn’t owning it,” attorney Mark Geragos said on GMA. “It’s a cop out when you start talking about, ‘I’m not a politician; I’m just doing the music.’ Most of the musicians who have any kind of consciousness whatsoever understand what’s going on here.”

In his Entertainment Tonight interview about the Super Bowl, Adam said, “No one put more thought and love into this than I did… I spoke to many people. Most importantly, though, I silenced all the noise and listened to myself, and made my decision about how I felt.”

Adam said that he plans on speaking “through the music.”

I love Adam Levine’s music (Maroon 5). It’s just business. We all need the money including Adam Levine or Colin Kaepernick. Ideology doesn’t pay the bills.

Adam is right. Politics should be kept out of sport and arts. Kaepernick has every right to protest police brutality but he shouldn’t do it during work hours but in his free time.

Yes national anthem should not be played during sports or arts. Keep politics out of it.

Only a idiot or a traitor would think the national anthem is political.
Yeah, I guess you don’t watch the World Cup or the Olympics or how about you know that national anthems are heard before every sporting event in all every sport around the world. Sports and national allegiance are synonymous

    Save us from leftist idiots

  • Sim

Or that 75% league are black players still taking a check and playing in the league.

Another idiot that Cardi B supposedly turned on the Super Bowl halftime but is doing every other rinky-dink thing associated with the Super Bowl, God save us from these idiots

  • Phil the Donahue

Um ever hear of punk rock or simply rock-pretty political Also, isn’t the national anthem political. Don’t sing it and then no one will kneel to it.

  • Phil the Donahue

Olympics are country vs country so of course the national anthem will be played. Same goes for countries in the world cup but sorry the national anthem has nothing to do with football and wasn’t performed for 50 years. #duh

  • Phil the Donahue

The super bowl doesn’t pay the performers. Adam Levine is very, very, very, very, very, very rich.

  • Phil the Donahue

So you’re saying we should all prostitute ourselves and not have any standards?

  • Sim

Exactly so why would you take the national anthem out of sports when the Olympics the first world wide sporting event was based on national pride. And the most popular sporting competition in the world, World Cup again is about linking national pride and sport.

So what is the national anthem have to do with basketball NBA, hockey NFL, baseball, cricket, soccer leagues they all play the nations anthems before games, in every country in the world.

The only people who would be offended that their national song is being played are bunch of traitors. There is such thing called immigration, if you don’t like the country and get the hell out. If you immigrate to USA, it is demanded you recite the Pledge of Allegiance at your hearing, that is done for reason.

No one is forcing to live in the USA.

  • Sim

Who standards your pathetic standards, who is prostituting themselves, these black players are using their company to protest something that has nothing to do with the NFL, if I work at McDonald’s can I start protesting evey made up political cause I want, in between taking orders.

Do you have job? Can you lecture your coworkers or clients and customers to all your political nonsense while you’re at work and getting paid.

  • Sim

They can get politcal on their own dime, and their own brand.

A player isn’t the NFL, the league has their own brand that players sign contracts for just that purpose.

That’s why they can’t wear anything political on their uniforms or persons or why they get kicked for any behavior, like hitting their girlfriend even if they not charged criminally.

No a nations anthem is not political, has nothing with politics or party, only leftist One Global government losers think that

  • Gina

He did have a problem and he spoke on it when Travis Scott’s PR team put out a fake story saying that Colin was ok with it.

  • Ausangel01

So Adam can’t think for himself anymore? He has to be an ignorant sheep like the rest of the herd? Why stop there Colin, why don’t you release your silly little statements about the players, I mean how dare your ‘brothers’ keep playing and getting paid when nobody wants you on their team?!?

  • krtmom

Colin is still trying to be relevent!!!

  • krtmom

Uh, the National Anthem is NOT a political song!!!

  • krtmom

You know what’s funny…all these “stars” want to patronize the Super Bowl yet they speak out against Maroon 5. HYPOCRITES!!!!

  • krtmom

    She’s a fucking idiot anyway!!!

  • Awayneramsey

I’ve known others who have “prostituted” themselves for necessities, and others, for drugs. People do what people do. In this discussion morality is not a question, and we will never disabuse ourselves from the sanctimonious hoards, morbid individuals.

  • Awayneramsey

Money does not make either Cap or Adam. I like Adam’s music and that’s that.

  • Dumb

You sound very much like the idiot you are speaking of. People have made the national anthem political. That said, Adam Levine have every right to sing at the Super Bowl without bs from others.
