Liam Neeson Admits He Roamed Streets with Weapon Looking For a 'Black B---d' After Loved One's Rape

Liam Neeson has embroiled himself in controversy after publicly telling a story he had never revealed before about a loved one’s rape.

The 66-year-old actor spoke about how someone close to him was once raped. He did not reveal this person’s identity.

“There’s something primal – God forbid you’ve ever had a member of your family hurt under criminal conditions,” he told The Independent. “I’ll tell you a story. This is true.”

Liam continued, “She handled the situation of the rape in the most extraordinary way. But my immediate reaction was…I asked, did she know who it was? No. What colour were they? She said it was a black person.”

“I went up and down areas with a cosh, hoping I’d be approached by somebody – I’m ashamed to say that – and I did it for maybe a week, hoping some [Neeson gestures air quotes with his fingers] ‘black b*stard’ would come out of a pub and have a go at me about something, you know? So that I could…kill him,” Liam continued. FYI – “cosh” is slang for “a thick heavy stick or bar used as a weapon.”

He continued, “It took me a week, maybe a week and a half, to go through that. She would say, ‘Where are you going?’ and I would say, ‘I’m just going out for a walk.’ You know? ‘What’s wrong?’ ‘No no, nothing’s wrong.’”

“It’s awful,” he added. “But I did learn a lesson from it, when I eventually thought, ‘What the fuck are you doing,’ you know?”

Liam added, “I come from a society – I grew up in Northern Ireland in the Troubles – and, you know, I knew a couple of guys that died on hunger strike, and I had acquaintances who were very caught up in the Troubles, and I understand that need for revenge, but it just leads to more revenge, to more killing and more killing, and Northern Ireland’s proof of that. All this stuff that’s happening in the world, the violence, is proof of that, you know. But that primal need, I understand.”

Sorry. I don’t understand. He was going around ready to kill just any black man that provoked him? Or that specific rapist?

  • mahbelle

hmm, can’t wait to see the apology for this one.

  • Rya

It’s a normal reaction to look for the person who hurt a loved one because it’s all they can do. The chances of just running into them aren’t very good buy some people feel they have to try.

He didn’t know who the rapist was, no identification, except race. So, he was looking to be be harassed by any black man so he’d have an excuse to kill him.

    *reaches for the popcorn*

  • writer887

He wasn’t looking for the rapist though. He was looking for any “black b@stard” to harm. Reading is fundamental. Read again.

  • itz_justme

How won’t we know?? It says right there in the article that he was looking for any random black basta*d to kill. He just needed a reason. Thankfully, he didn’t find one.

  • itz_justme

I wonder if he would’ve responded the same way had it been someone white as I imagine finding a white male in a bar to fight with in Ireland would be much easier than finding a black one (just sheer numbers).

The fact that he was fine just killing any black male who did the slightest thing to him because some unrelated black male raped someone he loved says a lot to me. Says he already had some negative opinions on black males to begin with and this was a “final straw” type situation.

It also says the black guys at pubs in Ireland must not be so bad if he went to the bar for a week and a half straight and no one bothered him.

  • Gina

He probably should’ve kept that to himself.

  • Narima

He is an angry man , you can see this through his roles , he really loves action films …
And now he told us that he has no problem with killing …
“No police , no law but get your right with your hands just because you’re come from Northern Ireland”!!
I mean” really, Are you serious?!! 😲”

  • mahbelle

    ya think?

vapidly rhetorical questions are my fav.

in this life, if one doesn’t have a sense of humor or cannot comprehend sarcasm, one is pathetic.

  • Robert Fornes

now he will be BLACK listed

  • mahbelle

He didn’t say he was fine with it. Did you read the article?

  • mahbelle

People have such poor reading comprehension skills. He said the way he felt was wrong and that he understands the need for revenge but he denounced it.

  • Gina

As someone who clearly understands what sarcasm is & seeks joy in reciprocating it (hence my previous comment), I thoroughly enjoyed your Ted Talk. ;)

  • itz_justme

Well.. his actions said he was fine with it. Not everything has to be spelled out. It’s not like someone was forcing him to go look for black dudes to kill out of frustration of what happened. I get that he reacted emotionally, but if someone hurt someone I loved, my reaction wouldn’t be to go looking for a fight as an excuse to kill anyone of the same race to deal with it.

He came to his senses before anything happened thankfully.

  • mahbelle

    I hate Ted Talks!

  • mahbelle

He clearly stated he was wrong in his kneejerk reaction. READ.

  • Leilane

He should never have said that

  • Gina

But you’re so good at them! Lol

  • Sim

It says you need read a lot into what he said , so you can feel “offended”.

  • chaz

He won’t. What he’s saying isn’t racist. A black man raped someone he loved. He’s obviously looking for a black man…it is what it is and you’d do the same whether your loved one was raped by whichever color. You’d be in that rage looking for that type. It is what it is

  • rosaryblue

I can’t believe he felt it necessary to even make this comment but at the very least the media should try to report things correctly – his relative was raped by a black man so he sought vengeance on a black man. At least with the whole story he doesn’t look like an insane racist. Just a man looking for revenge. Glad he overcame that urge. We need to require the media to stop with the endless race baiting.

  • itz_justme

I feel just fine. Was the question that surprising given the situation?

Seems more that you ignore what you don’t want to accept to feel comfortable in your bubble.

  • itz_justme

Yes. You do realize people are capable of having more than one emotion right? Saying he was wrong means there was an action or thoughtemotion to be wrong about.

FYI, a knee jerk reaction is immediate. It doesn’t happen over the span of 1 12 weeks.

The reality is, you don’t target an entire group of people as a reaction to one member of that group unless you already had bias against them beforehand.

  • Ash

Clearly you don’t understand what you’ve read. He said he was looking for any black man that could provoke him so he could unleash the anger that felt for the rapist.

  • mahbelle

You can get off your moral high horse now since you insulted me and are a condescending little twit.

  • chaz

Because a black man raped his friend. It was an act of anger and primal revenge. If it was a white man who raped his friend and he said he was out looking for a white guy to fight would you care? Nope because you’re a fucking sheep

  • itz_justme

lol you’re way too sensitive to be on these blogs.

….never knew not wanting to seek revenge against an entire group of people because of one person was a moral high horse… my mom would be so proud.
