Bryan Singer's 'Red Sonja' Film Being Put on Hold

Millennium Films’ upcoming Red Sonja movie is being put on the backburner.

The news comes amid sexual misconduct allegations surrounding director Bryan Singer, who has not yet been formally removed from the film.

“The project is not on the slate at the moment and is not for sale at the EFM in Berlin,” Millennium said in a statement to Deadline.

The action-fantasy comic book adaptation was set to follow a “sword-wielding heroine with a dark backstory including her sexual assault.”

It was expected to shoot this year in Bulgaria, but that reportedly won’t be happening.
