Bette Midler to Sing 'Mary Poppins Returns' Song at the Oscars!

Bette Midler will be performing at the 2019 Academy Awards next weekend!

The legendary 73-year-old entertainer will be singing the song “The Place Where Lost Things Go” from the movie Mary Poppins Returns.

The tune, written by Marc Shaiman and Scott Wittman, is nominated for Best Original Song. Emily Blunt sings it in the film, but she did not want to perform live at the Oscars, so producers had to find a replacement.

“So, (drum roll) Ladies and Gentlemen, I will be chanteusing (that’s singing) on the Oscars on Feb 24…the nominated song from Mary Poppins… ‘The Place Where Lost Things Go’ …so excited!!” Bette tweeted to announce the news.
