Louis Tomlinson Reveals Why Friendship with Zayn Malik Ended

Louis Tomlinson is revealing what happened between him and Zayn Malik.

The 27-year-old singer opened up in a recent interview that his relationship with his 26-year-old former One Direction band mate went south after Zayn didn’t show up to Louis‘ 2016 X Factor UK performance of “Just Hold On,” which was a tribute to his late mother Johannah Deakin – who had just died of Leukemia.

“Truthfully, [our relationship] never really got better,” Louis told The Dan Wootton Interview podcast. “I had a couple of calls with him after I lost my mum and all the boys had agreed to come to that performance and he didn’t show so that really bugged me.”

One Direction band mates Harry Styles, Liam Payne, and Niall Horan all attended the performance to show their support, but Zayn was a no-show.

“It was just seeing everyone there – Harry, Niall, and Liam — that was what I needed that night, that support,” Louis shared while adding he still hopes Zayn is doing “alright.”
