Lupita Nyong'o Opens Up About the Pressure of Starring in 'Us'

Lupita Nyong’o looked ready for spring while promoting Us in the Big Apple!

The 36-year-old actress was spotted on her way to an appearance on the Stephen Colbert Show on Monday (March 18) in New York City.

Lupita recently opened up about getting the chance to work with Jordan Peele and the pressure that came along with starring in the film.

“Of course it dawned on me that I’m going to be the lead in his sophomore film – all eyes are on him; his eyes are on me. There’s a level of pressure that I experienced,” Lupita told Vogue.

She continued, “I had a reverence for him, and I realized that reverence kills creativity. I had to work my way out of that to a place of respect so that I could respect myself enough to offer my talent and trust myself enough to contribute to his vision, rather than being dwarfed by it.”

Us hits theaters March 22nd.
