Spider-man: Into the Spider-verse

The Oscar-winning animated film of the year, Spider-man: Into the Spider-Verse arrives on store shelves today.

From the creators of Lego Movie, Phil Lord and Christopher Miller have put together a completely refreshing and visually stunning new animated Spider-man movie.

The film follows a young Miles Morales living in a parallel dimension to the Spider-man we mainly know where he is bitten by a spider that gives him special powers. This film helps introduce the complicated story of parallel universes in Spider-man lore in an amazing and easier to understand way.

Filled with a chock-ful of Spider-man memes, the animated film visually plays like a comic-book and is capitulated by a very catchy and dance-inducing soundtrack.

Since this is a digital animated movie, the transfer looks amazing. Extras include an audio commentary filled with interesting tid-bits, a featurette on the different cast of the film, in addition to interviews with the different artists that worked on the film.

The film also includes a fun old-school cartoon short called “Spider-Ham: Caught in a Ham” based on the comical Peter Porker, the Spider-man/Pig cross over.

This is arguably the best Spider-man movie to date, and with a confirmed sequel, this film is a must have.
Mary Poppins Returns

The new live-action instant classic Mary Poppins Returns comes out on Blu-ray and DVD today.

Filled with a star-studded cast, including Emily Blunt, Meryl Streep, and Lin-Manuel Miranda, this musical features a new cast and a new original score.

This time, the sequel follows the magical nanny, Mary Poppins, as she visits the Banks home 10 years later. There she helps the now grown-up Banks children and Michael’s children to help rediscover the joy they once had in their lives, especially during a difficult time.

The film is presented in 4K, which reportedly was upgraded in post-processing since the film was digitally filmed in a slightly lower resolution. The Audio is presented in Dolby Atmos soundtrack while the Blu-Ray offers it’s usual DTS-HD Master Audio.

Extras include a fun sing-along mode as you watch the movie, a featurette on a familiar cameo in the film, blooper reel, and more.

The film is a must-have for any Mary Poppins fan and Emily Blunt’s performance is amazing for the film and worth a gander, especially if you missed it in theaters.
