The Act's Joey King - 10 Interesting Things You Might Not Know!

Joey King is getting rave reviews for her work in the new Hulu series The Act and her performance is going to be the talk of the town!

The 19-year-old actress plays the role of Gypsy Rose Blanchard, a girl trying to escape the toxic relationship she has with her overprotective mother, Dee Dee (Patricia Arquette). Her quest for independence opens a Pandora’s box of secrets, one that ultimately leads to murder.

While Joey has been acting for nearly 15 years, you might not be too familiar with her yet. Here are some interesting facts that we gathered!

• 1. Joey shaved her head for her role on The Act, but this isn’t the first time. She previously buzzed her hair off for 2012′s The Dark Knight Rises and 2014′s Wish I Was Here.
• 2. Joey‘s older sister is also an actress. Hunter King currently stars on both the CBS comedy series Life in Pieces and the soap opera The Young and the Restless.
• 3. While most people might think that 2010′s Ramona and Beezus was Joey‘s first role, she actually started acting years earlier and first appeared on The Suite Life of Zack and Cody back in 2006.
• 4. Years before working with Patricia Arquette on The Act, Joey appeared on an episode of the Oscar winner’s show Medium in 2008.
