Criminal Charges Against Jussie Smollett Have Been Dropped

All charges against Jussie Smollett have been dropped.

He was previously indicted on 16 felony charges after police said they believed he staged a hate crime over his Empire salary.

“Today, all criminal charges against Jussie Smollett were dropped and his record has been wiped clean of the filing of this tragic complaint against him. Jussie was attacked by two people he was unable to identify on January 29th,” Jussie‘s attorney told The Wrap. “He was a victim who was vilified and made to appear as a perpetrator as a result of false and inappropriate remarks made to the public causing an inappropriate rush to judgement.”

Jussie and many others were hurt by these unfair and unwarranted actions. This entire situation is a reminder that there should never be an attempt to prove a case in the court of public opinion. That is wrong. It is a reminder that a victim, in this case Jussie, deserves dignity and respect. Dismissal of charges against the victim in this case was the only just result,” his lawyer continued. “Jussie is relieved to have this situation behind him and is very much looking forward to getting back to focusing on his family, friends and career.”

The state’s attorney added, “After reviewing all of the facts and circumstances of the case, including Mr. Smollett‘s volunteer service in the community and agreement to forfeit his bond to the City of Chicago, we believe this outcome is a just disposition and appropriate resolution to this case.”

We will provide more updates as they become available.

People when Jussie was allegedly attacked “Look, I’m not wanting to just leap in and believe things, let the Justice System figure it out.”

Hey how many of you thinking Jussie is only not getting charged for anything because of some corrupt causes are also pissed off someone else literally got to appoint a judge to say they wouldn’t be investigated for obstruction of justice?

Do you all feel like shit now? GREAT. YOU DESERVE IT. Innocent until proven guilty. And all you guys who say stuff like “It’s never a rape vicitms fault” and one sentence later said “Jussie, this dirty pig, made everything up”, you can go to hell. Hypocrites!

  • Casey C

if you wanna get technical, he was not found innocent. charges being dropped and being found to be not guilty aren’t the same

  • Max

okay, lets get very “technical”, is he a free man, could they prove anything? yes he is, no they couldnt. does it sound like he was framed? hell, yes.

  • Nik@night

Dropped charges does not equate to innocence. His PR team will brand this as such though. He’s done this before from what I’ve heard, but the media liked the story/narrative before it turned on him.

  • MyName

And will do community service. He took a plea deal. It’s different from being found innocent but isn’t a bribe.
If he was more than talk then he should have wanted his day in court. It’s nothing now but PR crap.

  • suzybel

His career is still in the crapper tho.
