Outlander's Laura Donnelly Lands Lead Role in Joss Whedon's HBO Show!

Laura Donnelly, well known for her work on Outlander, is set to star in Joss Whedon‘s The Nevers on HBO.

The drama is about a group of Victorian-era women who “who find themselves with unusual abilities, relentless enemies and a mission that might change the world,” THR reports.

“Laura Donnelly has charisma, wisdom and an anarchic precision that not only captures Amalia, but defines her,” Joss said in a statement. “She’s fierce and she’s funny — and I need both for the journey ahead.”

Laura will play Amalia True, described as “reckless, impulsive, [and an] emotionally damaged hero of her time. A menace to stuffy Victorian society, she would die for the cause and kill for a drink.”
