Selena Gomez Says Social Media Has Been 'Terrible' For Her Generation

Selena Gomez is getting real about the dangers of social media.

The 26-year-old entertainer, who has over 150 million followers on Instagram, explained why she thinks it’s harmful for society and how she chooses to use the platform.

“I think our world is going through a lot. I would say for my generation, specifically, social media has really been terrible,” Selena explained, according to Variety.

She continued, “It does scare me when you see how exposed these young boys and young girls are. They are not aware of the news. I think it’s dangerous for sure. I don’t think people are getting the right information sometimes. I think it’s pretty impossible to make it safe at this point”

“I’m grateful I have the platform. I don’t do a lot of pointless pictures. For me, I like to be intentional with it. It just scares me. I’ll see these young girls at meet and greets. They are devastated, dealing with bullying and not being able to have their own voice. It can be great in moments. I would be careful and allow yourself some time limits of when you should use it,” Selena concluded.

People who complain about online bullying are a trip. You can be bullied anywhere. At least online you can escape it. You have to be coo-coo not to understand you can block someone or not accept a request from someone u know ur not cool with. If its that bad log off and start over. Make new friends. This is not hard. Its the internet. You can be and almost do whatever you want. Its the schools, jobs, church as and especially home you need to be worried about. Those are where the real nightmares happen, Selena.

What’s a trip to me is how she ever got 150,000,000 Instagram followers. I’ll have to check out her page, maybe she’s busy posting full-on pussy shots.

Social media has been the death knell of society. Get off social media.

    I couldn’t agree more. I like her.

It’s part of her generation. She could have help, a handler for her accounts, but it’s now part of society. Someone her age and the only career she’s ever prepared for means she has to take part.

She seems like a very sweet person. However, she most likely has banked a ton from her social media followers. So it’s kinda like a famous actor/actress that wanted the fame so bad then shuns the paparazzi once they have it.

yet she still has social media accounts because they make money for her. hypocrite.

Your generation of snowflakes and crybabies has been terrible for the rest of us.
