'Game of Thrones' Finale Breaks Record for Biggest HBO Audience of All Time
The ratings are in for series finale of Game of Thrones and the episode has achieved the record for the most watched telecast on HBO!
13.6 million viewers tuned in for the 9:00pm airing on Sunday night (May 19), breaking the previous record of 13.4 million viewers set by The Sopranos‘ season four premiere in 2002.
When you add in the viewers across multiple platforms, 19.3 million people tuned in on Sunday night for the finale, which also breaks a record for multiplatform tune-in. That number includes people who watched via HBO Go and HBO Now.
18.4 million multiplatform viewers tuned in for last week’s episode, which was the previous record.
