'Bachelor' Star Chris Soules to Be Sentenced for 2017 Fatal Car Crash
Chris Soules is about to be sentenced.
The 37-year-old former Bachelor star will be sentenced for a deadly car crash this week, according to USA Today on Tuesday (May 21).
The judge denied a request to delay the sentencing on Friday (May 17) following the April 2017 car crash that killed 66-year-old man Kenny Mosher.
Chris was charged with a felony for leaving the scene of a deadly accident and pled guilty in 2018 to leaving the scene of a personal injury accident.
His attorneys requested a sentencing delay on Monday (May 20) citing Iowa state’s lack of response to a motion they filed for a presentence investigation report, which includes details about a defendant’s background and an assessment of the likelihood of reoffending. The report is meant to provide a judge with information that could be relevant to sentencing.
He faces up to two years in prison, and has the ability to withdraw his guilty plea if a judge doesn’t accept the plea agreement. He can also request a deferred judgment or suspended sentence, which would let him avoid prison and possibly remove the charge from his record.
