Kim Kardashian Visits Death Row Inmate, Campaigns For His Release

Kim Kardashian is defending death row inmate Kevin Cooper.

The 38-year-old reality star and law student took a trip San Quentin State Prison to visit him on Thursday (May 30) in San Quentin, Calif.

Kim reportedly spent hours in a cell talking with Kevin, who was convicted of brutally murdering four people in California in 1983.

Kevin, who was charged for the killings despite a witness saying the murderer was white, has maintained his innocence for many years.

After the meeting, Kim took to her Twitter to express her belief that Kevin is innocent and should be exonerated.

“I had an emotional meeting with Kevin Cooper yesterday at San Quentin’s death row. I found him to be thoughtful and honest and I believe he is innocent of the crimes for which he was convicted,” Kim wrote.

She continued, “I am hopeful that Kevin will be exonerated since DNA testing has now been ordered on Kevin’s case and I remain grateful to Governor Newsom for ending capital punishment in California.”

They are currently waiting on DNA test results.
