Bryan Cranston Dedicates His Tony Awards Win to Journalists

Bryan Cranston accepts his award on stage at the 2019 Tony Awards on Sunday (June 9) at Radio City Music Hall in New York City.

The 63-year-old actor won the award for Best Performance by a Leading Actor in a Play for his work in the play Network.

Bryan dedicated his award to all of the real journalists around the world.

“Howard Beale is a fictitious TV newsman who found himself in the line of fire because of the pursuit of truth,” he said during his speech. “I would like to dedicate this to all the real journalists around the world. Both in the press, the print media, and the broadcast media who are in the line of fire. The media is not the enemy of the people. Demagoguery is the enemy of the people.”
