DJ Khaled Reportedly Suing Billboard Over Disqualified 'Father Of Asahd' Album Sales

DJ Khaled is reportedly planning a massive lawsuit against Billboard for allegedly failing to count over 100,000 of sales of his latest album, Father Of Asahd.

The 43-year-old hit-maker’s attorneys have issued a letter to Silvio Pietroluongo, Billboard’s Senior Vice President of charts and data development, threatening to sue, Page Six reports.

Khaled was reportedly furious when his album came in at #2 to Tyler, the Creator‘s IGOR, after Billboard allegedly discounted downloads sold by the DJ and producer as part of a “bundle deal” with an energy drink.

Billboard apparently had agreed it would count downloads from DJ Khaled’s energy drink package, which sources in the artist’s camp say amounted to more than 100,000. Billboard later backtracked, disqualifying Khaled‘s entire sales from the promotion, arguing there were “anomalies” in his figures.

Their decision was actually based on chart rules following talks with DJ Khaled‘s management, Sony Records and Nielsen.

DJ Khaled‘s Father of Asahd was released back in May, and features appearances from Cardi B, SZA, Beyonce, Jay Z, Justin Bieber, and so many more – Stream it here!
