Actress Whitney Moore Condemns Ex-Boyfriend Max Landis for 'Horrific, Inhumane Things' He Did to Her

Whitney Moore is speaking out to publicly condemn her ex-boyfriend Max Landis for the “horrific, inhumane things” he did to her.

The 29-year-old actress and YouTube host wrote a statement on Twitter in which she explained that she never thought she would publicly talk about their relationship as she thought Max was working on himself as a person. Then she realized he “never got any better.”

Max, the writer of films like Chronicle, American Ultra, and Bright, has been accused of sexual assault multiple times.

“I never thought I would say anything publicly about the things Max Landis did to me because I believed that forgiveness was the correct way to heal,” Whitney wrote on Twitter. “I even defended him, for so long, because I truly believed he was getting better and that the ways he tortured me was isolated to our relationship. I thought there was no point in sharing the horrific, inhumane things he did to me because publicly condemning someone who is working on themselves is unproductive.”

“Now I know that this was a lie; he never got any better,” Whitney added. “He hid behind his friendship with me and several other good people so he could continue hurting people behind closed doors and not be questioned.”

Someone asked Whitney if she’s doing okay and she responded, “SO good. Living my life and surrounded by people who love me đź’«.”

    ok…but what did he do?

It’s right there. He wrote American Ultra and Bright.

Presumably sexually assaulted her. Multiple women accused him of harassment/assault/misconduct in late 2017 – and many more women spoke out to back up their claims about his gross behavior – and a few months ago another woman came forward with a pretty excruciating account of sexual abuse she suffered at his hand. (Here, Whitney Moore expresses regret she didn’t come forward earlier because she believed she was the only victim and he was remorseful/working to better himself, because that’s what he told her… So safe to assume that’s what she’s alluding to.)

TL;DR he’s a sexual predator and an untalented filmmaker at that – who keeps trying to make a “comeback” by positioning himself as something of an icon for misogynist fanboys, so these poor women keep having to speak out in an effort to shut him down.

Its rare for someone to tl:dr themselves, essentially showing that the entirety of their entry is useless, but for someone to ‘tl:dr’ themselves, and then enter their entire introspective into the situation based on hersay?

These ‘Max Landis is a rapist” myths are years old by now, and none are proven by any actual claims in court. Why do all of your ‘he’s a proven rapist’ claims, come in comment threads pretending like this is something people have known for a long time.”

This feels alot like it always has, for the last 4 times this has happened, a bunch of psychotic gilted ex girlfriend got to together, and lied about some shit, to get a famous person in trouble, becuase it made them feel important.

Until there’s evidence, or any court proving, this is worthless. Enough of this ‘a person tweeted it so its true, NONESENSE’.

He’s an untalented hack who goes on Twitter rampages when his terrible films are (rightly) slammed by critics and viewers. Someone who’s Hollywood royalty who keeps getting hired to write more movies despite the fact that he’s a self-entitled prick.

You’re right in the sense that he hasn’t been proven to have done any of these things, nor have there been any formal charges. However, and this is important to consider: It’s extremely difficult to prove sexual assault. It usually takes place in private without witnesses, and there’s often little to no physical evidence. I’m not saying that anyone did or didn’t do anything, but it’s strange to me that you would immediately jump to the conclusion that all of his accusers are psychotic, rather than accept the idea that maybe he might have done something inappropriate to them. There’s no proof that his accusers are mentally ill, either. We’ll probably never know the real truth, so it’s not constructive to get into shouting matches or take sides when we obviously don’t have the full story either way. I think we should consider the situation and wait to see how the story develops before we start throwing out judgment at anyone involved.
