Soccer Star Hope Solo Talks About Her Devastating Miscarriage

Hope Solo is opening up about the devastating miscarriage she suffered last year.

The 37-year-old soccer star opened up to Elle magazine about how she suffered the miscarriage just days before giving a speech at the presidential election for the United States Soccer Federation.

Hope was running for president and even though she “didn’t expect to win,” she says she “knew my voice was important.” Days before the election, she had been pregnant with twins.

“The doctor said I was hours from dying,” she said. “They ended up having to remove my fallopian tube.”

“That speech took a lot,” she added. “Even before all that, it would have taken courage.”
