James Charles Returns to YouTube One Month After Tati Westbrook Scandal

James Charles is back on YouTube.

The YouTuber, who turned 20 during his hiatus from the video platform amid scandal after his former friend and fellow vlogger Tati Westbrook called him out for what she considered to be inappropriate behavior, returned on Tuesday (June 18) with a video called “Hi Sisters.” (If you didn’t know, Tati‘s original video was called “Bye Sister…”)

“It feels so weird to be sitting here in the studio,” he admitted in the video’s opening.

“I basically just took a much-needed month long break from filming YouTube videos and also from social media…it’s been a very, very crazy month,” he went on to say.

“It got to a point where it was incredibly toxic to me and my mental health…I needed some time to detox and slow it down…I’m in a better state than I was, mental health wise.”
