MTV Movie & TV Awards 2019 - Ratings Revealed!

The ratings are in for the 2019 MTV Movie & TV Awards, which aired on Monday night (June 17) – and the viewership went down substantially compared to recent years.

The awards ceremony, which was hosted by Zachary Levi, drew an 1.8 million viewer readership across MTV, VH1 and sister channels, which was a 42% decrease from the 3.08 million viewership from 2018, according to The Hollywood Reporter on Tuesday (June 18).

That’s the smallest audience for the show in at least four years.

The demographic ratings also went down: for adults 18-34, the show’s 1.3 rating fell by 46% year-over-year. Among adults 18-49, the numbers available averaged a 0.8 rating, down 43% from 1.4 in 2018.

Just 434,000 viewers watched on MTV alone, which was less than half of its 903,000 viewership in 2018.

However, the 2019 MTV Movie & TV Awards were the No. 1 cable premiere of the quarter and TV’s No. 1 most social show of the night – it was trending on Twitter for seven hours.
