Mark Hamill Wants Carrie Fisher to Replace Donald Trump's Walk of Fame Star

Mark Hamill has an idea for who should replace Donald Trump‘s star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame: the late Carrie Fisher.

The 67-year-old Star Wars actor took to Twitter on Wednesday (June 19) to share his thoughts.

His tweet was in response to an article titled, “West Hollywood City Council votes to have Trump’s Walk of Fame star removed.”

Mark Hamill replied, “Good riddance! (and I know just who should replace him….) #AStarForCarrie ⭐️.”

Fans were quick to join in the sentiment. However, as Carrie Fisher‘s star didn’t happen before her death, the process is a little more complicated, The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce told TMZ.

Usually, a celebrity can be nominated by anyone, as long as the application includes a written statement from the celeb saying he or she approves and will take part in the ceremony.

After a celebrity’s passing, however, they can only get a star on the fifth anniversary of their death, with written consent from their family. Additionally, only one deceased nominee gets approved per year.

Donald Trump‘s star, meanwhile, has been repeatedly vandalized. However, it doesn’t sound like it will actually be replaced by anyone else.
