Kim Kardashian Faces Backlash for the Name of Her New Shapewear Line

Kim Kardashian is facing some criticism for the name of her new shapewear line, Kimono.

The 38-year-old Keeping Up With The Kardashians superstar revealed the new line earlier in the week, which caused some backlash due to the name.

Some users on social media called Kim out, claiming that the name Kimono, otherwise known as a Japanese traditional garment, was offensive.

However, Kim has “no plans” to produce actual kimonos with her line, and “hasn’t put a lock on the product name, which has been used in business for years” according to TMZ on Wednesday (June 26).

“Her trademark of the Kimono name only applies to her business…as is standard practice. She’s also trademarked Kimoji, KKW Beauty and KKW Fragrance in the past…all brands incorporate her first name to some degree,” the report reads.

Why, why, WHY do they insist on trademarking such blatantly popular words. Just like with “Kylie” because damn, it is for sure a very original name.

They’re unimaginative. They probably buy their own products to make it appear that it’s a good line. I don’t know anyone who would touch anything with their names on it.

I remember last year stories were going around that Kim had got jealous about Rihanna bringing out a line and decided to do the same. As usual it was rubbished by her people but fast foward and surprise, surprise, we get the pieces of tat she calls a line. Far from being innovative like they claim, she like the rest of them are nothing but pale imitations who have to copy others as none of them have the ability to come up with an original idea.
