Sophia Bush's Show 'Surveillance' Not Moving Forward at CBS

Sophia Bush was set to return to television next season in the spy thriller Surveillance, but CBS has passed on the pilot.

The former Chicago PD actress would have played “the head of communications for the NSA, a charming operative who finds her loyalties torn between protecting the government’s secrets and her own.”

What makes this story surprising is that Variety reports the pilot tested “through the roof” and was likely to be a hit.

David C. White, who wrote the pilot, took to Twitter to reveal the news.

“Super bummed SURVEILLANCE won’t be going forward but what an incredible experience it has been working with all of these amazing people,” he tweeted. “I can genuinely say it was an absolute dream working with the development teams at @CBS & @20centuryfoxTV, who always knew exactly what this show could be and pushed us to make it the best possible version of itself.”
