Danai Gurira Is Leaving 'The Walking Dead' - Watch Her Emotional Announcement at Comic-Con
Danai Gurira just made the emotional announcement that she is going to leave The Walking Dead after the upcoming 10th season.
The 41-year-old actress, who plays the fan favorite character Michonne, revealed the news during the show’s panel at 2019 Comic-Con on Friday (July 19) in San Diego, Calif.
“I can confirm that this is [my] last season. I will be leaving,” she said. “I would just like to say that this has been one of the purest joys of my life, to play this role. And to be amongst these people and those that are not here right now. I am very, very thankful for the experience I’ve had in ways I can’t even express right now.”
“My heart does not leave, in any shape or form. The beauty of this show is that TWD family is forever. And the first time I came here in 2012 I felt this energy and it doesn’t ever end,” Danai added.
