Naomi Watts Opens Up About Starring in the Upcoming 'Game of Thrones' Prequel
Naomi Watts is on the latest cover of PorterEdit, out now.
Here’s what the 50-year-old actress had to say…
On how she didn’t watch Game of Thrones until she was offered the headline role in the show’s prequel: “I didn’t start watching until I was approached about this job. But my brother [the photographer, Ben Watts], who is heavily into it, told me, ‘Under no circumstances are you going to turn this down.’”
On her fears about how the GoT prequel will ramp up her public profile: “I still have fears about that. I don’t really know what to prepare for.”
On being told that her career would end at 40: “At the beginning of my career, in my mid-twenties, everyone told me that I should expect it all to be over at 40. And to be honest, it was kind of looking that way. At that time, there were only a few people who seemed to scrape through and have careers beyond that.”
