Jay-Z Teams Up with NFL for Music & Social Justice Campaign

Jay-Z has a signed a huge, new deal with the NFL!

The 49-year-old entertainer’s Roc Nation has become the pro football league’s “live entertainment strategist,” the New York Times reports.

In the deal, Roc Nation and Jay-Z will consult on entertainment – including the Super Bowl halftime show – and contribute to the league’s activism campaign, Inspire Change. The NFL created the campaign earlier this year to “create positive change in communities across the country.”

“The N.F.L. has a great big platform, and it has to be all-inclusive,” Jay-Z said in an interview via NY Times. “They were willing to do some things, to make some changes, that we can do some good.”

Jay-Z’s new deal with the NFL comes after he dissed the league in his 2018 song “APES–T” where he rhymed about turning down the Super Bowl halftime show to show solidarity with Colin Kaepernick.
