Brad Falchuk Has No Interest In Being a Celebrity, Is Leaving That to Wife Gwyneth Paltrow

Brad Falchuk is moving into the spotlight after spending most of his career working behind the scenes in entertainment.

The 48-year-old television producer has been working alongside Ryan Murphy for years on shows like Glee, American Horror Story, and Pose. He’s also now married to Gwyneth Paltrow.

“I’m not the person out front. Never been my thing,” Brad says in a new feature for WSJ. “But it’s to a fault. It has cost me… I’m launching a company, and people need to understand who I am. I’ve operated as a light next to a very bright light.”

Brad signed a major production deal of his own with Netflix recently.

“I’m going to have independence,” he said. “I have my own company. I’m stepping away from the people I’ve allied myself with and where I’ve had a lot of success…and that’s terrifying. So my emergency is: Am I good enough to do that? But that’s always been my emergency. Am I good enough?”

Brad still doesn’t want to be considered a celebrity though.

“That whole world of fame is her world,” Brad says of his wife. “I always tell my kids, we have it great—because if I need to get us a dinner reservation in Rome, it’s easy. But when we get there, nobody knows us. I can operate anonymously in the world. And I like that.”
