Ben Unwin Dead: Australian Soap Opera Star Dies at 41

Australian soap opera star Ben Unwin has died at the age of 41.

The Home and Away star was found by New South Wales Police on Wednesday, August 14, according to the Sydney Morning Herald.

“Police attended Minyon Falls, Whian Whian, responding to a concern for welfare. The body of a 41-year-old man was located,” the statement reads. “The death has not been treated as suspicious.”

As of right now, Ben‘s cause of death has not been released.

Ben starred on the long-running Australian soap opera from 1996 to 2000, before making a return from 2002 to 2005.

Ben then decided to leave acting and started studying law to become a solicitor.

After news of his death was announced, Home and Away‘s official Instagram account posted a tribute honoring the late actor.

“The cast and crew of Home and Away are saddened to hear the passing of Ben Unwin. Ben played the character Jesse McGregor and joined the cast in 1996 – 2000, returning to Summer Bay in 2002 – 2005. We send our deepest condolences to the family and friends of Ben,” the tribute reads.
