Taylor Swift Breaks Silence on Harvey Weinstein: 'I Believe Women'

Taylor Swift is speaking out about the allegations made against disgraced producer Harvey Weinstein, someone she has worked with numerous times.

The 29-year-old singer had a role in the Weinstein Company’s movie The Giver and she also wrote a song for the movie One Chance, which earned her a Golden Globe nomination.

Harvey was accused of sexual assault by several women and while Taylor has been the victim of an assault, she did not experience this with the producer. She still believes his alleged victims though.

Taylor explained her interactions with him in a new interview with The Guardian. She said, “He’d call my management and be like, ‘Does she have a song for this film?’ And I’d be like, ‘Here it is.’ And then I’d be at the Golden Globes. I absolutely never hung out.”

“I would never vouch for him. I believe women who come forward, I believe victims who come forward, I believe men who come forward,” she added.

“If you listen to the stories, he picked people who were vulnerable, in his opinion,” she said. “It seemed like it was a power thing. So, to me, that doesn’t say anything – that I wasn’t in that situation.”
