Tracee Ellis Ross On The Basis of 'mixed-ish': 'The Humanity That Connects Us'

Tracee Ellis Ross strikes a pose as she makes her way outside of the Good Morning America studios on Thursday morning (September 5) in New York City.

The Golden Globe winning actress stopped by to discuss the upcoming Black-ish spin-off series, mixed-ish, and the launch of her new hair care brand, Pattern Beauty.

“@patternbeauty is here to empower and nourish curly, coily and tight-textured hair,” Tracee wrote in a statement on her Instagram. “3b to 4c. The formulas are unique and packed with luscious & safe ingredients-trust me I know, because my panel and I tried 74 different samples to get these 7 formulas for phase one.”

Tracee Ellis Ross introduced a clip of mixed-ish saying, “the beauty of the tapestry of this country and the world that we live in is that there are so many different kinds of people, different cultures, different traditions and that’s what makes this world so beautiful. And then, the humanity that connects us. We all have that heart that is the same place.”

The upcoming show follows a young Rainbow Johnson (Tracee) as she remembers her experience growing up in a mixed-race family in the 1980′s.

The evening before, Tracee Ellis Ross stopped by Late Night with Seth Meyers and talked about the inspiration behind mixed-ish, casting the younger version of her Black-ish character and starting a new hair care company.

FYI: Tracee is wearing a Preen dress on Late Night.
