'Rambo' Creator Slams 'Last Blood' Film: 'I Felt Degraded & Dehumanized'

The creator of Rambo had some choice words about Sylvester Stallone‘s recent Rambo: Last Blood flick.

Author David Morrell inspired the film franchise after introducing the character of John James Rambo in his 1972 novel First Blood.

After reading reviews of the film, David took to his Twitter to share his thoughts, writing, “I agree with these RAMBO: LAST BLOOD reviews. The film is a mess. Embarrassed to have my name associated with it.”

“I felt degraded and dehumanized after I left the theater. Instead of being soulful, this new movie lacks one. I felt I was less a human being for having seen it, and today that’s an unfortunate message,” David continued in an interview with Newsweek.

David went on to critique the movie’s cheap sets, awkward direction and its failure to share Rambo’s background with the audience.

Rambo: Last Blood is now in theaters.
