Get to Know 'American Housewife' Actress Carly Hughes with These 10 Fun Facts! (Exclusive)

American Housewife is returning for season four tonight and we caught up with one of the show’s stars, Carly Hughes, to learn more about her.

The TV star and Broadway veteran plays Angela, one of Katie’s best friends, on the ABC series. She has starred in seven shows on Broadway, including Pippin, Beautiful, and The Book of Mormon.

Here are 10 Fun Facts about Carly:

• 1. I don’t like to sweat. And maybe that’s the reason why I don’t. LOL, I can dance for 2 hours and just glisten!
• 2. Favorite food is seafood… specifically lobster!
• 3. If I crack while singing a song, in any live performance situation, it’s really hard for me not to laugh at myself!
• 4. I LOVE to travel. I try and get to at least one new city/state/country a year!
• 5. Almost all of my friends think I should do stand up comedy… I think it’s just because they love me. LOL

• 6. I’m obsessed with NAPS! Like, I will rush home just to cuddle myself in a blanket on the couch and nap.
• 7. I have a HUGE texture issue with food. If it’s mushy, or soggy or stringy… I will gag. Literally.
• 8. When I was 8 years old, I was baking with my mom. The directions in the recipe read “mix by hand.” I asked my mom if I should take my rings off. She looked at me confused and said “sure.” Two minutes later she looked over and I was elbow deep in cake batter!!! We both started cracking up!!
• 9. I can’t sleep without an eye mask or a t-shirt over my eyes.
• 10. I can throw down in the kitchen! I love to entertain and have friends over for dinner. Cooking is calming and satisfying for me.
• Bonus Fact: I once called my scene partner by his actual name, and not his character’s name… LIVE onstage in a Broadway Show. LOL
