Prince Harry Channels Mom Princess Diana by Visiting Angola Minefield During Royal Tour of Africa

Prince Harry is carrying on the legacy of his mother, Princess Diana.

The 35-year-old royal visited a HALO Trust mine site outside Dirico in Angola on Friday (September 27), 22 years after his late mother did the same thing in central Angola.

The visit was part of Harry’s royal tour of Africa.

While visiting, he remotely detonated a mine and met with community members to learn more about their de-mining efforts.

“This historic commitment is a key step forward for the movement to rid the world of mines and lay the foundation for a safe and just future for the next generation. Landmines are an unhealed scar of war. By clearing the landmines, we can help this community find peace, and with peace comes opportunity,” he said.
