Rose McGowan Is Suing Harvey Weinstein & His Former Lawyers

Rose McGowan just filed a racketeering lawsuit against Harvey Weinstein and his former lawyers.

In legal documents, the 46-year-old actress claimed that Harvey, Lisa Bloom and David Boies conspired to discredit and silence her rape allegations against Harvey.

Rose says that back in 2016 she was going to write a memoir titled Brave which featured details about being raped by Harvey but when he heard of the plans he shut down her efforts.

Harvey and his team attempted to steal her unpublished book and buy her silence, which she refused. He then began a campaign to smear her reputation so that no one would believe her, which Rose says may have included having coke planted in her wallet in 2017.

“This case is about a diabolical and illegal effort by one of America’s most powerful men and his representatives to silence sexual-assault victims. And it is about the courageous women and journalists who persisted to reveal the truth,” the documents read.

Rose is suing for damages.

Harvey‘s lawyer responded to the lawsuit in a statement to TMZ, saying, “Once and for all, Rose McGowan will be shown to be what she is; a publicity seeker looking for money. From the moment she sought a multi-million dollar payout in return for not making these baseless allegations, which we rejected, we knew that she was waiting for an opportune time to begin this…We will demonstrate that this case has no legal merit.”
