Kanye West's 'Jesus Is King' - Opening Weekend Box Office Numbers Revealed!

The numbers for Kanye West‘s Jesus Is King are in!

The 42-year-old rapper’s Nick Knight-directed big screen outing, which shares the same name as his new album, brought in $1.03 million globally over the weekend, according to Variety on Sunday (October 27).

The movie is a 30-minute short film, providing a look behind-the-scenes into Kanye‘s gospel experience in Roden Crater and James Turrell’s never-before-seen art installation in Arizona.

The movie features 13 songs, including gospel standards and Kanye‘s biggest hits, performed by the choir.

“We saw an opportunity to create a cultural moment with a visionary artist in a way that expands the Imax brand, while surprising audiences and experimenting with what we can bring to our platform beyond blockbusters,” said IMAX exec Megan Colligan.
