John Cena Will Donate $500,000 to Fight the CA Wildfires
John Cena has announced that he is donating $500,000 to help fight the California wildfires.
The 42-year-old actor and pro wrestler is starring in the new Paramount Pictures movie Playing With Fire, in which he plays a firefighter.
To mark First Responder Day, John decided to pay it forward and honor the real-life First Responders who are battling the fires in California right now. He tweeted, “I’m asking that today on #FirstRespondersDay we do everything we can to help those who risk their lives to protect us all.”
John asked Paramount Pictures to pick a charity to receive the donation and the studio picked the LAFD Foundation and the California Fire Foundation.
“Two incredible choices. @LAFDFoundation and @CAFireFound … on behalf of Paramount and the cast of #PlayingWithFireMovie, a total of $500K is coming your way. Thank you for what you do. Help is on the way!!!” John tweeted in response.
