Beck Says He is No Longer a Scientologist: 'I Don't Have Any Connection With It'

Beck is dishing on where he currently stands when it comes to the Church of Scientology.

The 49-year-old “Everybody’s Got to Learn Sometime” singer opened up in a new interview with The Sydney Morning Herald.

“I think there’s a misconception that I am a Scientologist,” he said. “I’m not a Scientologist. I don’t have any connection or affiliation with it.”

“But I’ve pretty much just focused on my music and my work for most of my life, and tended to do my own thing,” he continued. “I think it’s just something people ran with.”

Back in 2005, soon after he married Marissa Ribisi, Beck said in an interview, “Yeah, I’m a Scientologist. My father has been a Scientologist for about 35 years, so I grew up in and around it and stuff.”

Beck and Marissa divorced this past February.
