Tekashi 6ix9ine Sentenced to 24 Months in Prison

Judge Paul Engelmayer sentenced the 23-year-old rapper to two years in prison – of which he has already served 13 months – meaning that he will be released by late 2020, TMZ reported on Wednesday (December 18).

He will then be on supervised release for an additional five years, and will need to complete 300 hours of community service, as well as paying a $35,000 fine.

During the sentencing, it was revealed that Tekashi helped to convict two members of the Nine Trey Bloods, and that prosecutors met with him “two to three times a week.”

He originally faced a minimum of 47 years in prison before agreeing to help prosecutors learn information about his former gang members. He previously pled guilty to federal counts of racketeering, conspiracy, firearms offenses and narcotics trafficking.
