Carley McCord Dead - Sports Reporter Dies in Plane Crash at 30

Carley McCord, a sports reporter based in New Orleans, has died at the young age of 30 after the plane she was in crashed into a parking lot in Lafayette, La.

McCord is the daughter-in-law of LSU coach Steve Ensminger and she was heading to Atlanta to attend the Peach Bowl, where the LSU Tigers are facing off with the Oklahoma Sooners.

Witnesses say that the private aircraft appeared to be making an emergency landing after takeoff. TMZ reports that the plane landed in the parking lot of a Post Office and then skidded and hit a nearby vehicle. It eventually stopped in a field. The driver of the car reportedly died and there were several other fatalities as well.

TMZ has video of the crash scene, which might be too disturbing for some people to see.

We’re sending our thoughts and condolences to Carley‘s loved ones during this difficult time.
