Jake Gyllenhaal to Star in Film Version of Broadway's 'Fun Home'

Jake Gyllenhaal is reportedly going to star in a film adaptation of the Broadway musical Fun Home!

The Tony-winning musical is based on Alison Bechdel‘s best-selling graphic memoir. The story introduces us to Alison at three different ages, revealing memories of her uniquely dysfunctional family that connect with her in surprising new ways.

Jake is going to produce the film and he’ll also play the part of Alison’s father Bruce, according to Daily Mail‘s Baz Bamigboye.

Sam Gold, who won a Tony for directing the musical on Broadway, will also direct the movie.

Jake is no stranger to musicals after appearing on the New York stage in shows like Sunday in the Park with George and Little Shop of Horrors.
