Oprah Winfrey Denies She Advised Harry & Meghan on Their Exit from Royal Family

Oprah Winfrey is speaking out in response to a report that she spoke to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle about their decision to leave their positions as senior members of the royal family.

Page Six reports that Oprah “was the first person to talk to Harry and Meghan about breaking free and doing their own thing, building on their own brand. She made them realize it was really possible.”

Oprah is a close friend of the royal couple and she was in attendance at their wedding in May 2018. Her BFF Gayle King is also close with the couple.

“Meghan and Harry do not need my help in figuring out what’s best for them. I care about them both and support whatever decisions they make for their family,” Oprah said in a statement that was released to the media on Thursday night (January 9).
