Netflix's 'Cheer' Stars Open Up About the Show's Overnight Success (Video)

The Texas Navarro College cheer coach and cheer stars La’Darius and Morgan opened up about their hit Netflix show Cheer and its massive success on E!’s Daily Pop.
“We’re just all, I think, like really shocked that the whole world watched it. We knew that, you know, it would be popular in the cheer community, but we had no idea how impactful it would be, you know. We were just filming cheerleading, we had no idea…you can see clearly the athleticism, the grit, the determination that these kids have,” Monica said.
“I’ve been working with La’Darius for a couple years and just the growth that he has had. Just maturing and really becoming more empathetic and just really trying to deal with his things from the past and letting that go. And he’s just grown so much. I’m so proud of him. And Morgan, too. She came in, you know, really raw. She didn’t really know much about college cheerleading or anything…she’s just really excelled and come out of her shell,” she went on to say of the cheer stars on her team.
