Cate Blanchett & Rooney Mara Are Reuniting, But Not for 'Carol 2'

Cate Blanchett and Rooney Mara are making another movie together, though sadly it’s not a sequel to Carol like fans have been hoping for!

The award-winning actresses will be reuniting on screen for Guillermo del Toro‘s upcoming movie Nightmare Alley, which has already begun filming.

Bradley Cooper, Toni Collette, Willem Dafoe, Richard Jenkins, Ron Perlman, and David Strathairn are also part of the star-studded cast.

In the upcoming film, “an ambitious young carny (Cooper) with a talent for manipulating people with a few well-chosen words hooks up with a female psychiatrist (Blanchett) who is even more dangerous than he is.” Rooney will be playing a carnival worker.

“I’m inspired and elated to be joined by this brilliant cast,” Del Toro said in a statement. “[Co-writer] Kim Morgan and I have worked with great passion to bring the dark, raw world and language of William Gresham to the screen and now we are joined by a superb group of artists and technicians to bring it to life.”
