The answer may surprise you because very often, the quarterbacks are the highest-paid players on NFL teams.

Well, on both the Kansas City Chiefs and the San Francisco 49ers, the quarterbacks are not the highest paid players on the teams. Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes is actually paid a fairly low salary for the level he is playing at, and 49ers quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo signed a big contract in 2018, but it still didn’t make him the highest paid player on the Super Bowl field.
