'Rhythm Section' Producers Respond to Box Office Failure

The producers of the new movie The Rhythm Section are speaking out in response to the movie’s box office failure.

The new film, starring Blake Lively and Jude Law, had the lowest opening weekend gross of any movie opening in more than 3,000 theaters. The movie earned $2.8 million for its first three days during Super Bowl weekend.

James Bond producers Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson backed the movie and they released a statement on the box office performance.

“We are obviously disappointed with the box office, but we’re proud of [director Reed Morano] and our movie and the overwhelmingly positive reaction to Blake’s performance,” the producers said in a statement to Deadline.

The outlet reports that Paramount Pictures will likely lose between $30-40 million on the movie.
