Janelle Monae Honors Mr. Rogers at Oscars 2020, Shares Cute Moment with Tom Hanks
Janelle Monae hits the stage while opening the show at the 2020 Academy Awards on Sunday (February 9) at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood.
The 34-year-old singer kicked off the evening by paying tribute to the late Mr. Rogers. She sang his song “A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood” and she shared a sweet moment with Tom Hanks, who played him in the movie A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood.
Tom was nominated for Best Supporting Actor for his work in the movie, but the award went to Brad Pitt.
Janelle continued the performance by honoring a bunch of the movies that came out this year with a fun song and dance number.
